Raiatea (Tupaia’s homeland) s the second largest island in the Society Island group.

Confusingly Tahiti is the name of the largest island in the Society group, but sometimes refesr to all of French Polynesia, which includes the Marquesas, the Gambier, the Austral, and the Tuamotu  islands and atolls.
